Gassabias is an 896-acre lake. you can get to Gassabias via A gravel road that runs between, the "Airline" (Route 9) in Washington County and Route 16 in Penobscot County. The gravel-logging road takes you deep into the Maine woods north of the studmill road. At the lake are three primitive campsites (picnic table and fire ring). I had the privilege of camping there with my son for a week, during that Week we did not see another person, we spent every day paddling, fishing and hiking.
This area is a great place for viewing wildlife we saw moose, loons and there were fresh bear tracks near our tent.
